Hospital bag: checklist for mother, baby and companion

Dividing luggage into baby, mother and companion prevents personal items from getting mixed up. For the baby, put together complete sets with a bodysuit, pants, sleeper and accessories in labeled bags. Reserve a specific outfit for discharge and include NB and 0–3M options when the fit is uncertain.

The mother can concentrate documents in a folder and separate hygiene, breastfeeding and clothes into their own toiletry bags. The companion must bring their own change, bathroom items, charger and payment method. This organization allows anyone to find what they need without disassembling the entire suitcase.

Each hospital defines documents, average length of stay, items provided and rules for food, visits and companions. Request the official list before closing your luggage and compare it with the checklist. This way, you avoid carrying large volumes of diapers or hygiene products when these products are already included.

Leave the suitcase ready in a location known to the family and install the child car seat in advance, following the seat and vehicle manuals. Documents and exams must remain accessible, without remaining at the bottom of the suitcase.
